What is a Copyright deposit?
    1 – Storage:
The deposit filing seals and established a creation date for a work with a government repository, to be part of the official record, where it will be
maintained for a minimum of 30 years. These works are archived and recorded in a directory. Each work is notarized, inscribed and is traceable. Each file
is "deposited" when the officials in charge of the repository certifies the registration and sends a report of findings (“Finding PV”) on the deposit of
    the file.
The value to the author of the deposit and registration is that it provides a date certain of the registration, which means that an author's rights are
protected as of that date for at least 30 years. By registering and depositing a work, authors are protected from anyone who tries to plagiarize or copy
    the work.
    2 - Copyright
Copyright denotes the protection of an artistic, literary, musical, visual or other creative work on behalf of its author, creator or owner. With copyright
protection, the author or owner of the work has a right to all benefits of the work. However, it is difficult to prove the existence and the precise effect
of this right without the use of a strong authentication device. That is what makes registration and deposit so important and invaluable. The registration
provides proof of creation at the same time it establishes the date of creation. Without that proof, such a right can be challenged by another party.
By filing a work with the Copyright Office, the author of a work receives an official order that proves the existence of the right in ownership of the
intellectual property. Copyright registration facilitates copyright protection which can improve an author's productivity and save time and money. And we
can help you do all of this online.
