A) Copyright Module - top

Copyright Module allows to every owner of PrestaShop website to protect his content by a certified certificate with a digital timestamping.

Every Copyright Registration is transferred in real time to a Public Notary office and is sealed for life with a proved creation date.

When your content is sealed by a public notary, you can prove the ownership of your work in more than 172 countries of the Bern Convention and be sure that you have in your hands the possibility to stop the non-authorized copy of your content.

B) Module Installation and Activation - top

In order to use this Module, you need to run a stand-alone PrestaShop installation.

Once you have the zip archive ready, you need to go to your Dashboard, which is located here http://yourwebsite.com/<adminfolder>, navigate to Modules et Services > Modules et Services and, in the top menu, select Add new module. Now, select the zip archive and just install it as you would usually do.

After Module installation and activation you need to go to the settings page. Navigate to Copyright and activate your Copyright account or create the new account to begin using the Module and protect your content.

You can change the following settings in the "Settings" tab:

• Types that will be used for Copyright - choose what can be copyrighted;
• Content category - choose your content category from the list;
• Copyright notice - set the notice that will be displayed after copyrighted content;
• Access to copyright settings - choose who will be able to see and change Module settings;
• Access to copyright registration - choose who will be able to copyright content;

Also, in "Settings" tab you’re able to see your actual plan and update it.

D) Copyright content - top

Add Copyright for Single Product/Cms/Category - top

On the adding/editing page you can enable copyright by checking the appropriate checkbox in the copyright block.

If there are copyrights available for this content, you will see the message.

You can also enable copyright by checking the appropriate checkbox on the general list.

In the frontend there will be a notice after the copyrighted content. You can change the Copyright notice on the Module Settings Page.

E) Copyright History Page - top

On the Copyright History Page you can view the list of copyrighted content with such information.

• Name - content title;
• Date of demand
• Status - copyrighted status;
• Certificate - download link for certificate;
• Protected document - download link for protected document (Registered file);

F) Uninstall Module - top

During uninstalling the module, the following items will be deleted too:

• All module settings;
• All tables from the database which were created during the module installation.

The content copyrighted is valid for life (+70 years after the author's death). The data storage at our public notary is limited to 30 years but we keep a duplicate registration for life.

Can I modify a deposit content after registration?

A deposit provides a proof of anteriority sealed on your creative work by a certain date and a bailiff deposit on your file to register. That is what makes Copyright efficient and credible. After every update of POST, ARTICLES, IMAGES, the deposit needs to be made again.

What do I have to do if my content is counterfeited?

1. First of all, check if it's real copy (and not a simple resumption of some elements that can look like to your creative work) before appealing to justice for counterfeiting.
2. The copy has to be a published document and that everyone can access: these are the main requirements to claim to be subjected to real harms.
3. If the copy is actually a published document that everyone can access, you can start legal action.
4. Send a registered mail to the counterfeiter, the mail must state that the counterfeiter is using private/protected/copyrighted data and must stop immediately the spreading of this information/content; if he refuses, you will have to appeal to justice.
5. If these requirements are gathered, you can contact us, we will inform you about the way to follow.

Is it necessary to register a new copyright for each update of your content?

For an optimal protection, it's better to register each update. In fact, the deposit provides a certain date and then an anteriority proof, but it doesn't protect data added later.
